Background
The distributor managed several warehouses with separate Excel files. Stock figures often did not match, stocktaking took a long time and tracing goods by batch was difficult.
Challenge
- Fast stock in/out using barcode scanners right on the warehouse floor.
- Keep working normally when the network is unreliable.
- Give management a consolidated view of stock across all warehouses.
Solution
We built Windows desktop software that stores data locally on each machine and syncs automatically to a central server when online. The stock entry screens are designed to be operated entirely with a scanner and keyboard, and barcode labels print directly.
Legacy data from the Excel files was cleaned and migrated. Stock reports by warehouse and batch, and low-stock alerts, are generated automatically.
